Global marketing spend has reached $1 trillion, but is this helping to promote good ideas that tackle the big problems we face as organisations, as societies and as a species? Or does it make it harder for these good ideas to get heard?

Founded in 2015, Long Run Works is a story innovation business on a mission to give good ideas stronger stories, so they get the attention they deserve and grow faster.

We create platforms and networks, and deliver products and services to make it easier for people with good ideas to win the support they need. We are also challenging people’s expectations about what an agency can and should do.

Why stories?

For thousands of years stories have been key to how we share information, make decisions, construct our identities and make sense of the world.

Telling a compelling, understandable and shareable story can help you get attention beyond your resources.

Our people

The Core Team

Guy Pattison

Guy Pattison

CEO
Built a top 5 sport sponsorship business before a rice crop failure prompted him to start supporting purposeful entrepreneurs instead. Happiest at a whiteboard or out in the field, mixing the dark arts of communications and innovation for good.

Will Hill

Chief Story Officer
After 10 years wrestling with his conscience (and the words of comedian Bill Hicks) Will now focuses on creating campaigns with purpose.  He gets a kick out of using creativity to tell stories that deserve to be heard.

Leah Dennison

Senior Research Executive
Leah met the boys through her role at Sussex Innovation Centre, where her research covered health informatics, innovations in employee wellbeing and anti-social behavior faced by LGBTQ+ people. Her appetite for doing things differently convinced them they belonged together.

Long Runners

We make the most of modern technology, trends and attitudes to create and manage the right team for each brief or opportunity.

Our network of long runners is made up of story makers, story tellers and story doers that are passionate about their craft, experts in problem solving and are excited about the future.

These are awesome individuals that we’ve worked with in our past lives; from sitting on global creative boards for brands and leading public sector campaigns to running commercial sponsorships and working with entrepreneurs in global hubs of innovation. We also work collaboratively with specialist pioneering agencies like Outlandish and Practical Governance.

What’s important to us is that you get the right people to help you tell your story and that you are not paying for unnecessary overheads or retained talent that doesn’t quite fit.
